Jablonec nad Nisou is located in northern Bohemia and has 40,000 inhabitants. For centuries the city has been a synonym for the glass and jewelery industries.
The energy-saving project, implemented in 2016 and 2017, involves the comprehensive modernization of the heating and lighting in 15 town buildings. As a result, energy costs have fallen by €160,000 per year, a saving of at least 17% compared to the reference year.
The majority of boiler rooms and lighting in 12 schools, the town library, the sports hall and the swimming pool underwent major renovations, with extensive modifications on the connection and use of heat pumps. The rest of the investment was used for smart technologies: a computer-controlled system for individual temperature regulation (ITR) and energy management.
