Friall s.r.o. is a Czech company producing frozen potato products in the South Bohemian town of Tábor for more than 50 years. The traditional assortment of potato fries, wieners, and Tábor croquettes with a unique recipes is gradually expanding with other potato products, made mainly from Czech ingredients. In 2022, energy management was modernized, which reduced energy costs by 10%.
More than 80 % of the investment is accounted for by the modernization of the refrigeration plant. Significant savings have been made by using waste heat from the cooling system, as well as from the condensate. The project also includes the replacement of existing lighting in the production and warehouse areas with energy-saving LED lights. The energy savings are equivalent to reducing CO2 emissions by more than 1,000 tonnes per year.
The project is an exceptional use of the OP PIK subsidy of approx. CZK 36 million in conjunction with the energy service with savings guarantee (EPC) method in the industry.
